Crash diets - effective or pointless
Intensive preparations for the summer have started. We are involved in more physical activities, more concentrated on face and body skin care and are watching what we eat.
May has arrived with more sunny days ideal for outdoor activities.
While reading online content I notice that the most popular posts are those about getting ready for the summer. An inevitable subject is weight loss so we can look perfect at the beach. Every season the media promotes new beauty ideals, colours, make up, hair, nails that are “in” this season… ideal hair dues, body measurements etc… So we have to be perfect in order to be liked? Because of these imposed needs, women are subjected to radical measures to meet the commonly accepted expression of beauty for our culture and they often resort to instant solutions such as a crash diets. But is that healthy? How smart is malnourishment and starvation? How does our skin react to such sudden changes?
Adequate ways to lose body mass and excess pounds must be gradual and include change in nutritional habits, not starvation, through unhealthy crash diets. Bombastic diets often create an unrealistic picture of weight loss: "Lose Weight in Just 10 Days!" Therefore, anyone starting with a restrictive diet should know that it is a long and not always a pleasant process that requires discipline and professional counselling, ie adherence to the guidance of an expert. Gradual weight loss is healthier, much more effective and more comfortable. Most experts believe that a good rate of losing weight is approximately one kilogram in two weeks. Most people are terrified when they hear that, as they realise that significant weight loss requires several months of restrictive diet. Being slimmer, more flexible and healthier is a decision that requires our full engagement, changing nutritional habits, exercise, self-reliance, time and energy. Sadly, most of the people are looking for an easy way out, so they decide to go on a crash diet that promises faster weight loss. But such people are always on a diet and they always have the same weight or they are even adding pounds. What is lost in these “magical” 10 days - is water, but not fatty tissue. The scale shows us less body weight, but after a couple of days the pounds come back. In this way we undernourish our body, do not take in the necessary nutrients and so affect our entire body and finally, the appearance of the skin. Dark circles under the eyes appear, the skin looses elasticity and what remains is the use of various chemical products that will “help us look better”.
The best way for long-term and effective weight loss is eating more healthy foods. Consult with a professional person in this area, a nutritionist and / or a doctor, to advise you on what foods are good and healthy, which you should avoid because they are bad for your body and consequently accumulate in the form of fat tissue. Eat smaller meals, a variety of foods with more fiber, and less fatty, sweet, processed foods. Along with a healthy diet, exercise is very important. Increase body activity and have a 20 minutes exercise ritual every day.

It is said that the skin is the mirror of the whole organism, it is our greatest organ and all of our conditions manifest in it. When we go into the process of lifestyle changes and decide that we will be vital, healthy, active and consequently beautiful we should not forget to ensure the same to our skin. The best and most effective skin care is achieved by organic cosmetics because it is the most appropriate and healthy skin nutrition that we can provide. The skin gets natural, unadulterated nutrients and active substances that make it, in the long run, healthy, vital, elastic, in one word beautiful.
First of all love your body, be willing to prosper, but be led by health, not perfection, because in that case you will never be completely satisfied. Enjoy healthy weight loss and be ready for the summer! I greet you and write you again next week! Kisses !!!!!
