Buriti palm tree, Mauritia flexuosa, grows in swampy, humid tropical areas of South America, particularly in Brazil. Buriti Palm, usually high around 35 meters has large leaves, flowers that are pale yellow in color and usually bloom from January to April. The round Buriti fruit is brown in color and meaty inside. The fleshy part surrounds the hardly edible nut, which is the seed of the plant.
