As I was walking through the beautiful Zadar on my way to work, looking at shop windows and various cosmetics shops I got the need to talk about the point of using organic cosmetics.

Beauty is sometimes a very broad term and people view beauty from different angles. Some people think beauty means a lot of makeup, nice clothes, attitude and self-confidence, while to others beauty means healthy-looking, nourished skin, hair, and a cherished smile on the face. The «easiest» way to be "beautiful" is buying synthetic cosmetics that will act instantly, quickly and aggressively, and will in fact have only an aesthetic role. We are probably going to feel nice and groomed, but not in a long term. What we are unaware of is the fact that if your skin is secured with the necessary nutrients, it will renew itself. This can be done with the healthy foods from the inside, but also with organic cosmetics. You wonder why?

I grew up in suburban Dalmatia, surrounded by nature and the understanding about the meaning of the term -organic-. Since childhood, I eat only local organic fruits and vegetables that have been grown without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers. In organic cosmetics, the same thing is essential. The active ingredients of organic cosmetics were grown in farms without the use of artificial fertilizers, thus they do not contain the chemicals that may have an adverse effect on the skin and cause a reaction of any type. In organic cosmetics you don't have to fear of the harmful effects of cosmetics on your health.

As everyone knows that whatever is applied on the skin enters our body, so by using synthetic cosmetics we are not doing good for our body. Organic cosmetics are usually obtained with minimal processing of natural ingredients so that valuable minerals, vitamins and other nutrients that feed our skin are well preserved. 

When I started using organic cosmetics I realized how significant it is to invest in the health of your skin. While it may be more expensive than synthetic cosmetics, it's worth every investment because you know that you're doing good to your body and skin in the long run.  There is an old but true saying about that: "Better to prevent, than cure!".
